How much does hosting cost in Chile?
A guide to real hosting prices in Chile for 2026: ranges by project type, what each tier includes and how to compare without being misled by the entry price.
01 — Ranges
What hosting costs by project type
These are referential ranges for the Chilean market in 2026. The final price depends on resources, included licenses and support.
| Hosting type | Approximate monthly range | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Basic hosting (1 site) | CLP 2,000 – 5,000 / US$3 – $6 | Personal or low-traffic sites |
| WordPress hosting | US$4 – US$12 | Blogs, corporate sites and media |
| E-commerce hosting | US$8 – US$30 | WooCommerce and PrestaShop stores |
| Multi-domain / agency hosting | US$15 – US$70 | Agencies and multi-site projects |
| KVM VPS | From US$15 | Apps that need root access |
Referential ranges. Hosting in Chile with own servers, premium licenses and local support can cost more than foreign resale because it includes infrastructure and licenses others do not deliver.
02 — What you pay for
What actually determines hosting price
Two plans can cost very different amounts and offer the same… or not. These are the variables that move the price.
Beyond disk space
Hosting price does not depend only on storage GB. Allocated resources (CPU and RAM), disk type (NVMe vs SATA), the control panel, included licenses (LiteSpeed, Imunify360, CloudLinux, KernelCare), server location and support quality all play a role.
Very cheap hosting often cuts support, backups or licenses, and makes up for it with low entry prices that rise sharply on renewal. That is why you should look at the 12-month total and what is really included, not only the first invoice.
- Real CPU and RAM resources
- Disk type: NVMe vs SATA
- Premium licenses included
- Server location and latency
- Backups and support included
03 — Hidden costs
Hidden costs to review before you buy
The advertised price is rarely the final price. Check these points to avoid surprises.
Renewal increase
Many hosts offer a cheap first year and double the price later. Always ask for the renewal price.
Paid licenses
cPanel, LiteSpeed, Imunify360 or CloudLinux may cost extra. On Phantom Server they are included.
Paid backups
Check whether backups are included or charged as an add-on.
Charged migration
Some hosts charge to move your site. We migrate free from your current host.
Extra SSL
The HTTPS certificate should be included, not a monthly extra cost.
Limited bandwidth
A low transfer limit can make growth expensive. Our plans include unmetered transfer.
04 — Phantom prices
What Phantom Server hosting costs
Our published prices in USD per month, payable with PayPal or Cryptomus, with CLP + VAT conversion on the site.
| Service | From | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| DirectAdmin hosting | US$4 / month | NVMe SSD, unmetered transfer, SSL, daily backups |
| Premium cPanel hosting | US$6 / month | The above + the full cPanel ecosystem |
| Managed KVM VPS | US$15 / month | Dedicated resources, panel of choice, full management |
| Dedicated IP (add-on) | Ask us | Own IP for email and direct access |
Prices in US dollars per month. The site shows the CLP + VAT equivalent. Prices stay stable on renewal.
05 — How to choose
How to choose hosting for your budget
Do not pay for resources you will not use, but do not skimp on what keeps your project running.
Three practical recommendations
If you are just starting a site or blog, a basic hosting plan with NVMe SSD and SSL is enough and lets you grow later. If you sell online, prioritize resources, daily backups and reliable email over the lowest price.
If you manage several client sites, the cost per project drops sharply with a multi-domain plan. And if you need full OS control, a managed KVM VPS is cheaper than building and maintaining your own server.
- Start with a plan you can scale
- Prioritize backups and security for e-commerce
- A multi-domain plan lowers project cost
- Consider the 12-month total, not just month one
Hosting price FAQ
- Why does hosting in Chile usually cost more than in the US?
- Because it includes local infrastructure, premium licenses and direct support. At Phantom Server we run our own servers in Santiago with national connectivity and Spanish support, plus licenses such as LiteSpeed and Imunify360 included.
- Does the price include the domain?
- No. Domain registration is handled separately. We can guide you to register it with your preferred provider or help you configure it.
- What is VAT and how does it apply to CLP prices?
- Published prices are in USD. Paying in Chilean pesos adds the corresponding VAT. The site shows the conversion using a reference exchange rate.
- Do prices go up on renewal?
- At Phantom Server we keep prices stable. We do not apply surprise renewal increases like the first-year promotions of other providers.
- Is it worth paying annually?
- It depends on your cash flow. If you want to lock the price and simplify management, ask us about payment options at info@phantomserver.net.
